A little pay it forward post I hope you enjoy…
One night my husband and I decided we wanted to bless the car behind us in the fast-food drive-through line by paying for their order. The line was particularly long that Friday night and as we waited and waited, we kept secretly glancing back at the car driver behind us knowing that they were in for a big surprise! We knew that once we paid for our order, we would tell the worker at the window that we also wanted to pay for the car behind us.
As the cars slowly advanced in line our excitement kept growing because…
it truly is more blessed to give than to receive!
But as the cars moved up and were almost to the window to order, the car behind us suddenly and unexpectantly pulled out of line and left! My husband and I looked at each other shocked and commented how close they were to getting a free meal for them and possibly their family if only they would have waited a little bit more!
So, here’s the question: How often do we do the same thing and miss out on God’s blessings?
The wait seems too long, so we take matters into our own hands, and we miss the blessing that God was ready and wanted to give us. Friend, hold on, God has great things in store for each one of us!
Stay faithful
Stay in His word
Keep seeking His face every day
Stay in the line!
Even now, God is preparing a wonderful place for us in heaven, for his word says in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
So, let’s stay in the fast-food car line, so to speak, let’s not get impatient and turn to worldly things and get our lives out of line. Let’s stay the course, hope, and trust God with our lives, plans, jobs, relationships, our everything.
“The Lord rewards everyone for their righteousness and faithfulness,” 1 Samuel 26:23 tells us.
Let us be found faithful in all that we do, so that WE don’t miss out on God’s blessings.
(Postscript: We DID buy the “next” car’s meal behind us, just not who “we thought” we were going to be buying for that night! We hope it blessed them.)
Until next time, sweet friends,
Brooke

Love the message of this piece! We never know what blessings are just around the corner!
What a great reminder in a simple act of kindness...I want to do this more with my kids, I think it's something they would remember forever and comes with a very impressionable message behind it. Thanks for sharing!
