Don't be a Rita
A little reminder for all of us
If your name is Rita, I do not mean to offend, please read on and you’ll soon understand. It was our date night after a long week. We went out to eat at our favorite pizza place and then stopped at a new thrift store before returning home. My husband and I were perusing the shelves and, of course, I was scanning the nicely organized book section. I found a couple cute picture books in good condition for our small grandchildren and a novel for me when I stumbled upon a new slim line NIV Bible. Pulling it carefully off the top shelf it looked like it was brand new and never used! I thumbed through some pages and considered getting it for only a few dollars. Then I noticed there was a name engraved on the lower right front cover. Rita it said in gold, no last name, just plain Rita.
Right there in the aisle I wondered what her story was and why she hadn’t read her Bible. It made me sad to tell you the truth. Here was a perfectly good Bible but God’s promises were unread. God’s love, not seen. God’s wonderful plan for his children, not observed.
So, if you have a Bible, I’d highly encourage you to read it so you can experience God’s promises, love and plans.
Don’t be a Rita.
Until next time, sweet friends,
Brooke

I love this! I tell you, we are kindred spirits!!
